What is Belian Timber Floor Deck?
Belian wood or also known as Borneo Ironwood is one of the hardwood trees that indigenous to Indonesia, Malaysia and Philippines. It takes up to 120 years to reach 30cm diameter. It has the hard and dense characteristic that it doesn’t float on the water. Due to its outstanding durability and termite resistance, often used for outdoor structures.

Belian timber is classified as Heavy Hardwood, making it one of the most durable woods globally. Its density ranges from 835 to 1,185 kg/m3 air dry.
Natural Durability:
The heartwood of Belian is naturally durable due to its unique anatomical features and high content of extractives.
Resistance to Decay and Rot:
Belian timber is highly resistant to decay and rot, even in ground contact and other hazardous conditions.
Use in Marine Applications:
Belian is a suitable timber for marine applications, with a lifespan of at least 20 years.
Resistance to Insects:
Belian wood is known for its resistance to insects, including termites. Examples of Belian Wood Usage Belian wood is used in Dayak Longhouse structures due to its high resistance to insects and water infiltration.
